Present Idea
June, July, and August are crazy birthday months for me. Not only is it my own birthday in July (the 16th, if you are keeping track) but it's my dad's, two of my aunt's and uncle's, a cousin, two dear family friends, and countless girl friends. Well, actually, if I am counting there are eight ladies I know who are bron in the summer months.
So, since I do not believe in the whole "No presents for my birthday" rule (because that's lame. Come on, we might be grown ups but everyone should still get some presents. Your birthday is once a year, embrace it and let your friends buy you a gift) I have to come up with something so I don't actually go broke.
I love to go into a Target or CVS kind of store and pick out a variety of fun bath products. Put them all in a gift bag with some tissue paper and you have a lovely present for not a lot of money. There are those bath sets you can buy but those are kind of boring and usually all the same sort of thing and maybe we don't all want to smell like Summer Breeze or Tropical Punch.
For example you could get:
- Kiss My Face Organic In The Pink Shower Gel
- Booth's Ginger Sugar Body Scrub
- BATHherapy Balt Salts in Lavendar (this stuff is awesome, and cheap, by the way)
- A new colorful bath puff thingy
- A gift bag (you can buy all the Paperchase line at your local Borders)
All for less than twenty five bucks! Obviously you can try different options for more or less money depending on how much you like the person. (Ha.) Whenever I have given this gift the person has talked about it to me more than once, how that was such a nice variety of things and something they hadn't ever bought for themselves. How often do we buy ourselves totally new bath products that we never tried before?
For an added punch you could wrap each thing loosely in a different color of tissue paper and put it all in your fun gift bag. Who wouldn't love to get that?!
Recently I also bought a bunch of lovely blank cards and I am stowing them for upcoming birthdays.
